Oxehealth is a Digital Care Assistant that supports Mental Health Trusts to deliver better, safer inpatient care. A number of Mental Health hospitals are using Oxehealth to address physical health, falls and ligature risks.
Oxehealth’s Digital Care Assistant provides real-time alerts to high-risk behaviour, increasing time available for clinical care and preventing serious incidents. It assists during night observations by enabling staff to check vital signs without entering patient rooms or disturbing patients.
It works by placing a secure optical sensor in every patient room, paying attention when staff can’t be there. Oxehealth’s Vital Signs product was recently certified as a medical device – a world first.
The company was founded by Professor Lionel Tarassenko, Head of Engineering at the University of Oxford, in 2012 to turn world-leading British science into solutions that give clinical staff more time for hands-on care. It is part owned by Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Oxehealth work with Mental Health Trusts across Older Adult, Dementia, Acute, PICU and seclusion services. Oxehealth also operates across Police, Prison, Care Home and Home Care settings.
