Jackie Doyle-Price

Department of Health and Social Care, Minister for Mental Health and Inequalities

Jackie Doyle-Price, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Mental Health, Inequalities and Suicide Prevention

Jackie was born and raised in Sheffield, and often credits this for her down to earth approach. First elected in 2010 as Member of Parliament for Thurrock, Jackie was appointed as a junior minister at the Department of Health in June 2017 following the general election.

At the Department of Health and Social Care, she has responsibility for mental health, inequalities, suicide prevention, women’s health, maternity care, health and work, organ donation, prison health services, and children’s health. Jackie regularly engages with stakeholders, front line staff and service users on these areas. Notably, she co-chaired the Women’s Mental Health Taskforce and co-founded the Women’s Health Taskforce.

Through her cross-party approach to policy since becoming minister, Jackie has successfully supported a number of Private Members’ Bills through the Commons, including Seni’s Law and Max’s Law.
